Sometime ago (around 2 weeks), a group of concerned Woodrose batch '92 alumnae and friends purchased a lot of diapers from Handy Dandy Diapers. Little did we know that this was a donation to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital.
Handy Dandy Diapers decided to help the cause by making the delivery (free of charge, of course) for the buyers, and adding 10 packs more to the donation.
We're attaching photos of some of the babies in the NICU, as well as the diapers donated.
This was such an enlightening experience for us, that we have since decided to donate 1 pack of newborn diapers for every 10 packs sold. This eats into our profits (which are very small, to begin with), but what better way for us parents to
help out other parents in need.Thank you to the group of Woodrose '92 (who requested to remain anonymous) for letting us know about the need in Jose Fabella Hospital.
We also spoke to the doctors-in-charge (Dra. Ilao, Dra. Rejuso) and they requested several other items for donation: a breast pump (they only have 1 in the whole hospital!), a glucometer, droplights (to warm the preemies, and there are many!), a digital weighing scale, and linens. They would also appreciate other "baby" items, so for those of you who have kids who have grown, and no longer need your "baby" stuff (i.e. shirts, jumpers, other clothes, bottles, nipples, pacifiers, etc...) please let us know, and we will gladly collect these items from you and donate them to Jose Fabella Hospital in your name.
If any of you are interested in joining the cause, please contact us. For those of you interested in making donations (diapers or otherwise), please contact us also.
We will collect the donations, pool them together, and deliver to Jose Fabella Hospital. We will of course account for all the donations, and post photos. Please help Handy Dandy Diapers help more babies in need :D
Here's an excerpt of the donors e-mail to us:
It has been such a pleasure dealing with you

So glad *** gave us your number! We are truly grateful for your new advocacy of increasing awareness about helping Fabella hospital patients as well as donating more diapers allocated from diaper sales profits on a regular basis. The latter's a fantastic idea...and certainly, very generous of you!! Hope the buying public and other small businesses can be inspired by your example of corporate social responsibility

May you continue to be blessed with more sales! Hope we can help spread word about your company, too.
You're most welcome to include this project of ours in your website. Other interested diaper donors can probably make diaper donations through you, too.
